Age: Old enough to remember when the government actually sort of tried to follow the Constitution.
Residence: Albany County
State: NY
Country: USA

Biography:

Born in Utah, but raised in Kailua, Hawaii until age 12.

Junior High thru college in NY State.

Still here (too stupid to move - so far... But the time is nearing!).

Married, one stepdaughter (and now three stepgrandkids).

House, business, car all paid for.
(My taxes support several welfare takers, but should I get injured
or my business get struck by lightning, I am not eligible for
disability insurance or unemployment pay!).

Career:

Built my first "hi-fi" system from scratch at age 12, including the circuitry for the tape recorder and the cabinets for the speaker systems (12-inch woofers!). Studied electrical engineering in college, but after that spent 13 years building and driving professional drag-racing cars (stock and super-stock classes). Achieved national recognition and even some international fame (Canadian "driver of the year" one year).

Reentered electronics, taking correspondence courses to upgrade my out-of-date knowledge. Started computer repair business which rapidly evolved into a computer software business. Cars paid for house down payment. Computers paid for rest of house and inventory for another business...

Now, in addition to some programming, run a rock shop. OK, what the heck is a rock shop? Well, we sell rocks, minerals and fossils to collectors. We sell gems to jewelry makers and regular people, to whom we also sell settings and finished jewelry. We sell jewelry-making, lapidary, and rockhounding equipment and supplies. If it involves rocks or gems, we sell it.

Hobbies (in no particular order):

My wife at an IPSC match Target shooting: sporter, high-power, pistol, air rifle and pistol.
IPSC/USPSA action pistol ("running and gunning").
Race cars, mostly watching NASCAR on TV these days.
Rock collecting (ie digging my own).
Faceting gemstones (ie cutting my own).
Bashing the government and national media, esp. the anti-gun, anti-freedom, anti-Constitution crowd.
Trying to grow old gracefully.

The current Internet Quotes:

According to casualties.org there have been 88 hostile fire
deaths caused by firearms since the beginning of hostilities in
Iraq. The remainder of coalition deaths have been due to
explosives or accidents. What does this mean?

If you consider that there have been an average of 160,000
troops in theater during the last 22 months, that gives a
firearm death rate of 55 per 100,000. The firearm death rate in
Washington DC is 80.6 per 100,000.

This means that you are more likely to be shot and killed in our
Nation's Capitol than you are in Iraq! The conclusion? Under the
logic of the heathen left, we should immediately pull out of
Washington DC!

Compromise - according to my trusty dictionary, the word means "a settlement of differences by mutual concessions". When it comes to the 2nd Amendment and self-defense - what's the "compromise" ? My life for a 10-round magazine limit? Some compromise - I think a more appropriate term would be "unconditional surrender"! No one - not government, not anybody! - has the moral right to tell me I can't use the very best tools I can obtain to protect my life, and the lives of my loved ones. And to those who would ask me to "compromise" when it comes to my welfare and safety, or that of my family, my answer is the same simple one as that given by Gen. Anthony McCauliffe to the Germans at the Battle of the Bulge - "Nuts!!"

Hmmmmmm. Let's see. Live-fire military exercises in civilian population centers ... the arming of more federal law enforcement agents ... the creation of a new commander-in-chief for domestic preparedness ... and, of course, the continuing effort to disarm law-abiding civilians throughout the United States through a concerted legal attack on gun manufacturers, a media assault on the Second Amendment and political targeting of pro-gun laws in all 50 state legislatures. What's wrong with this picture? Why should the government have all the guns? Does anyone remember why the Second Amendment was crafted by our founders? Do you think it was intended to protect hunters or to provide defense against criminals? No way, the founders blessed us with the Second Amendment because they understood the biggest threat to the freedom of the American people would come from government. And the best way to hold a government in check -- in fact, the only way -- is through a vigilant and well-armed citizenry.
